Public Address Systems (Hazardous Atmospheres) - Zone 1
Prior to the availability of the Spector Hazardous Area PAGA
there was always a requirement for a classified "safe" area on the
installation for central equipment.
However in the event of ingress of potentially explosive gas the only
recourse is to disconnect uncertified equipment thereby disabling
critical parts of the PAGA at the very time when vital emergency
instructions or alarm tones need to be broadcast. If the central
equipment is located in a safe area this would mean loss of the entire
PAGA broadcast system.
Spector Lumenex has removed this serious deficiency by ensuring
all parts of PAGA, including central equipment can continue to operate
safely in the presence of hazardous atmospheres, thus achieving the
highest safety levels possible. Two such schemes are available -
